TEDx at FSU PC: Unleashing Leadership Wisdom

FSU PC TO HOLD TEDX PROGRAM FOCUSING ON LEADERSHIP STRATEGIES
Talks hosted by Business Administration and Organizational Excellence and Innovation Center

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Florida State University Panama City will host a guest speaker event on leadership strategies in the format of a TED Talk from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 19, in the St. Joe Community Foundation Lecture Hall, 4750 Collegiate Drive, Panama City.

The speakers will include Terri Hoskins, vice president of leadership at the St. Joe Co.; Donna Pilson, executive director of Rebuild Bay County; Sharon Michalik, director of communications for Bay District Schools; Mark Sheldon, mayor of Panama City Beach; and Irvin Clark, Ed.D., associate dean for student and strategic initiatives at FSU PC.

The event is organized by Eren Ozgen, Ph.D., teaching professor of management at FSU PC. Ozgen is also coordinator of the FSU PC business program and the university’s Organizational Excellence and Innovation Center.

“The Leadership TEDx event is set to provide valuable insights and advice on leadership,” Ozgen said. “Featuring presentations from Bay County professionals, the event focuses on addressing leadership challenges and sharing success stories. The goal is to inspire students and enrich their educational experience by fostering collaboration and engagement between academia and industry.”

Beginning in 1984 with a conference that included a demonstration of compact disc and e-book technologies, the Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED) conference has grown to span a multitude of worldwide communities and initiatives exploring everything from science and business to education, arts and global issues. In addition to the hundreds of TED Talks curated by the central organization (visit TED.com for more), there are now original podcasts, short video series, animated TED-Ed lessons and much more.

Each year, more than 3,000 independently run TEDx events bring people together to share ideas and bridge divides in communities on every continent. The free TEDx event at FSU PC is open to students as well as any interested members of the community. Attendees will have a unique opportunity to connect with Bay County professionals, gaining real-life insights into leadership strategies employed across various fields.

“The event aims to facilitate meaningful interactions, allowing students to meet leaders from diverse backgrounds and tap into a wealth of leadership experience and expertise,” Ozgen said.

The FSU PC Business Administration Program will also hold the following free public events in February:
