March 15th Foundation Scholarship Deadline Approaching at GCSC

Dunkin McLane talks about the Foundation Scholarships and the upcoming Workshop for the essay portion.

The Mix

Dunkin McLane, the Assistant Director at Gulf Coast State College Foundation, joined The Mix to talk about upcoming scholarship deadlines on March 15th. If you are a current Gulf Coast student, high school senior, or even a returning student after spending some time in the workforce, Dunkin encourages those interesting in submitting an application. These scholarships have helped 53% of the cost of tuition alone at GCSC!

The first step would be submitting an application to be a student at Gulf Coast State College. Next would be filling out some multiple-choice questions, and then two essay questions. Dunkin says that there will be a GCSC Foundation Scholarships Part II workshop that will be hosted by the Writing and Reading Lab at Gulf Coast State College. This lab will be on March 1st from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. More information can be found below!

If you are interested in submitting an application, you can find more information at www.gcscfoundation.org. The application deadline is March 15th and the Scholarship workshop will be on March 1st.

GCSC Foundation Scholarships Part II: Tuesday, March 1 at 5:30 pm

Students that attend the second workshop will be coached on how to improve their scholarship essays. We will discuss ways to make our writing stand out and also educate students on what to avoid doing when it comes to crafting a scholarship essay.

Walk in anytime between 5:30 and 6:30 pm and bring your answers. The Lab tutors will check for grammar and punctuation errors and will advise on other areas like content and structure. The workshop session will be held in the Writing and Reading Lab on the campus of Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Florida.
