FPL Gives Away Free Christmas Trees in Bay County
FPL Spreads Holiday Cheer in Northwest Florida With Free Christmas Trees and Energy-Efficient LED Lights
PANAMA CITY, Fl — Northwest Florida families will be getting an early dose of holiday spirit this year as Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bay County, prepares to give away 200 free five-foot Christmas trees along with LED energy-efficient light strands. The festive community event takes place Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 5–7 p.m., with the line opening at 4 p.m.
The giveaway will take place at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bay County Christmas Tree Lot, located at 2312 W. 23rd Street in Panama City, across from Bill Cramer Chevrolet GMC. Trees and lights will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to the first 200 households.
Supporting Families & Saving Energy This Holiday Season
During the event, FPL representatives will share practical guidance to help customers keep their energy bills low throughout the holiday season. Attendees can learn simple energy-efficient strategies and discover tools designed to help manage and reduce energy usage.
In addition, FPL will highlight its Holiday House of Savings, an interactive online experience where customers can “play to learn” ways to cut energy costs. Each completed play not only gives customers a chance to win a $150 energy-efficiency prize box, but also generates a $5 donation from FPL to the Care to Share® Electrical Assistance Program. Care to Share® provides qualifying customers facing financial hardship with up to $750 within a 12-month period to help with utility bills.
A 30-Year Holiday Tradition
For more than three decades, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bay County has operated the Bill “H” Haisten Christmas Tree Lot, using tree sales to support life-changing youth programs throughout the county. Funds from tree purchases help sustain vital enrichment activities, mentorship programs, and safe spaces that encourage local youth to reach their full potential.
This year’s partnership with FPL enhances that tradition by ensuring that even more families can bring the joy of a decorated Christmas tree into their homes—at no cost—while also learning ways to celebrate efficiently and affordably.
