Micro-Surfacing Work Scheduled for Frankford and Florida Avenues

PANAMA CITY, FL – Beginning Wednesday, November 12, a contractor will begin micro-surfacing work on two key roadway segments in Bay County:

  • Frankford Avenue – between Hwy 390 and the Robinson Bayou Bridge

  • Florida Avenue – between Baldwin Road and Hwy 390

Crews will start on Frankford Avenue first, then move to Florida Avenue. Work on both segments is expected to be completed by Friday, November 14.

During the project, traffic will be reduced to one lane in the active work zones. Stop/Slow flaggers will be on-site to safely direct drivers through each area. Motorists are encouraged to use caution, expect minor delays, and watch for road workers and equipment while improvements are underway.

Officials thank residents and commuters for their patience and cooperation as crews work to enhance roadway safety and extend pavement life.

What Is Micro-Surfacing?

Micro-surfacing is a fast-drying pavement preservation treatment that applies a thin layer of asphalt mixture over the existing road surface. This process helps seal small cracks, improve skid resistance, and extend the life of the roadway—all with minimal disruption to daily traffic. It’s a cost-effective and efficient way to maintain smoother, safer roads across the community.
