OneGenAway to give away free groceries in Panama City

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — One Generation Away is back at St Dominic Catholic Church parking lot, distributing free groceries for anyone in need.

The nonprofit will bring its drive-thru Mobile Pantry to the church parking lot at 3308 15st St. on Saturday, Aug 12. Each car that drives through receives a load of fresh produce, dry goods, and more — free of charge, no registration or paperwork needed.

“We can’t wait to bring the community together for our first Florida food distribution of the year,” said Chris Whitney, founder and CEO of OneGenAway. “If you would like to receive some groceries, we have plenty to go around.”

“We are excited to grow and get more involved in the panhandle community,” Whitney said. “We have loved serving Panama City over the past few years, and establishing a warehouse and local staff will allow us to reach more people and advance towards our mission of wiping out hunger.”

Food distribution will begin around 8 a.m. and continue until 9:30 a.m. or until all the food has been given out. Volunteers are encouraged to arrive at 7 a.m. to help sort and distribute the food, and those receiving food are also encouraged to arrive early, as the food is first come, first served.
