BAYWAY HOSTING VETERANS GIVEBACK CONTEST

Bay County Public Transit to Award One Local Vet a Free Annual Pass

[Panama City, Fla.] – Bayway, Bay County Public Transit System, has recently announced the launch of a contest to give back to a local veteran. The contest calls for residents to nominate Bay County veterans online to win a free one-year pass for the bus system. Nominations can be made at www.BaywayTransit.org/Veterans/ starting today through December 5. Bayway provides service to the Panama City VA Outpatient Clinic and continues to support local veterans through this initiative.

“The service and sacrifice of veterans should never be overlooked. Bayway is committed to serving those who have served our country,” said Lamar Hobbs, Transit Programs Administrator of the Bay County Board of County Commissioners. “This annual pass giveaway is a simple way for us to honor a local veteran and say thank you to a local hero.”

Florida has the third-largest veteran population in the nation, and Bay County is home to more than 21,200 of them. Many of those veterans receive services at Panama City’s outpatient clinic. Bayway’s Route #6 transports riders directly to the clinic (Stop Code: 371) upon rider request from Monday-Friday.

To nominate a veteran in Bayway’s contest, please visit www.BaywayTransit.org/Veterans/. The winner will be announced in December. For more information about Bayway, including updated routes and schedules, please visit www.BaywayTransit.org/.
