Radio Legends Steve King and Johnnie Putman Joined The Mix

The Mix: Steve King and Johnnie Putman join the show for National DJ month.

The Mix

June is national DJ month, and in honor of the DJs, disc jockeys, and hosts that bring great music to the radio, we had two special guests in the studio today. Steve King and Johnnie Putman are award-winning broadcasters, authors of the Les Paul memoir, “A Little More Les,” and members of the WGN, Chicago walk of fame who now split their time between Chicago and Panama City Beach.

We talked about their start in the radio, how this year they are celebrating 100 years of combined radio broadcasting, and the stories of inventor and musician, Les Paul. We also heard a cut from Steve King himself, with the song titled, “A little More Less Medley.”

If you are interested in a copy of the memoir by Steve and Johnnie, you can go here.
