The Northwest Regional Library System aspires to help students to prevent the “summer slide” by providing a variety of engaging, educational programs that encourage discovery.

Library cards are free for all residents of Bay, Gulf, and Liberty Counties. Twenty library materials can be checked out at a time. An additional five eBooks and eAudiobooks can be checked out through the Libby app. First download the Libby app to your device, select Panhandle Library Access Network, and then Northwest Regional Library System as your location. Another exciting event that will begin next week is the StoryWalk Downtown. This will be in downtown Panama City along Harrison Avenue. This is a free event for families and individuals looking for activities this summer.  In total, 16 businesses will be partnering with the Library to help display the story.

Each business will have a specific portion of the story, and families and individuals can walk downtown to read its entirety. The story for this month will be Captain Jack and the Pirates. For the month of July, it will be “A Hole in the Bottom of the Sea”, and August will be “Nugget and Fang.” The first part of the story will begin at History Class Brewing Company.
