Bay County responds to Federal Increase of 100% Contribution Timeframe

Panama City, Florida – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced today that FEMA will extend 100-percent coverage from five to 45 days for Category A and B expenses, resulting in an estimated $85 million dollars being covered at 100 percent in Bay County. The total Bay County Category A, debris costs, are approximately $400 million while Category B, expenses for emergency protective measures, are ongoing.

“We are incredibly grateful to President Trump and Gov. DeSantis for their continued commitment to the people of Bay County, ensuring every state and federal resource is available to the Florida Panhandle and equipping us to emerge from this catastrophic event stronger and better prepared than ever before,” Bay County Commissioner Philip “Griff” Griffitts said. “We appreciate Gov. DeSantis’ leadership and look forward to working together on Bay County’s long-term economic recovery.”
