FSU PC’S 12TH ANNUAL AUTISM AWARENESS AUCTION HELPS LOCAL FAMILIES

Early Childhood Autism Program provides services in home, school and clinic

PANAMA CITY, FL — April is Autism Awareness Month, and the Early Childhood Autism Program (ECAP) at Florida State University Panama City will mark the month with its 12th Annual Auction for Autism Awareness on April 12.

All proceeds of this event go to the ECAP Butchikas Scholarship fund, which provides financial assistance to Bay County families affected by autism who need help paying for therapy.

“The auction is one of ECAP’s most valuable tools for giving back to the community,” said Dakota Januchowski, clinical coordinator for ECAP and a board-certified behavior analyst. “With the money raised through our yearly event, we’ve provided thousands of free therapy hours for an underserved population.”

ECAP is a 501(c)3 non-profit early intervention and community outreach program that provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to local children with developmental delays or disabilities. It is the only local nonprofit ABA program to provide in-home, in-school and in-clinic services.

The auction will be from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, April 12, at the Holley Academic Center’s St. Joe Community Foundation Lecture Hall, 4750 Collegiate Drive, Panama City. To donate, email fsuecap@pc.fsu.edu or call 850-770-2241. All donations are tax deductible.

“Any donation that you could give would be greatly appreciated,” said Nikki Dickens, ECAP director. “We are looking for gift certificates; any item that could go into the auction such as toys, gift baskets, clothing, jewelry; monetary donations; or any other items that you would be willing to donate.”

ECAP has set a fundraising goal this year of $30,000, which could provide hundreds of hours of therapy to families in need. For more information about the program, visit PC.FSU.edu/ECAP.
