Traffic Shift Alert: US 98 in Panama City Beach

Chipley, FL – U.S. 98 east and westbound traffic will be temporarily shifted to the newly constructed travel lanes, between Cambridge Boulevard and Gulf Boulevard, Thursday, Feb. 22. Work will begin at approximately 8 p.m. and conclude by 6 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23. Law enforcement personnel will be on-hand to safely direct drivers through the work zone.

To accommodate construction, the U.S. 98 speed limit has been reduced to 40 mph from Mandy Lane to east of Richard Jackson Boulevard. Speeding fines will be doubled while workers are present in the construction zone.All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
