Tyndall Air Force Base Construction Update

Lane Closures Planned for U.S. 98 Median on Tyndall Air Force Base

Chipley, FL. – Construction work in the U.S. 98 median will close the Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue median crossover from 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31 to 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1. Tyndall Drive traffic destined for eastbound U.S. 98 should turn right onto U.S. 98 and then take the first available U-turn to travel eastbound.

Airey Avenue traffic destined for westbound U.S. 98 should turn right onto U.S. 98 and then make a U-turn at Louisiana Avenue to travel westbound.

Traffic flaggers will be available to safely direct drivers through the work zone.

All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
