Join The Lifeguard Team: Beach Safety Tryouts Announced

Panama City Beach, FL– Panama City Beach is looking for people to join our lifeguard team. Keeping the more than 18,000 residents and 5 million visitors safe on the World’s Most Beautiful Beaches is of paramount importance to the City. Panama City Beach Fire Rescue has a permanent Beach Safety staff of 10 employees and will be hiring up to 15 seasonal lifeguards. The season is from April 1 though September 30.

There are eight one-hour tryout times during January and February; tryouts will consist of a 500-meter swim in 10 minutes or less. All tryouts are on a Monday morning and will be at the Panama City Beach Aquatic Center at Frank Brown Park. To schedule a tryout, email Beach Safety Director Daryl Paul. 

Tryout times:

  • January 8: 8-9 a.m.
  • January 15: 9-10 a.m. (PCB observed holiday, MLK Day, pool opens at 9 a.m.)
  • January 22: 8-9 a.m.
  • January 29: 8-9 a.m.
  • February 5: 8-9 a.m.
  • February 12: 8-9 a.m.
  • February 19: 9-10 a.m. (PCB observed holiday, President’s Day, pool opens at 9 a.m.)
  • February 26: 8-9 a.m.

PCB Fire Rescue Beach Safety is a United States Lifesaving Association-accredited agency and follows the USLA guidelines and recommendations.
