Seized Corvette Gets New Mission

Corvette ‘Seized for Service’ used for community outreach

Panama City Beach, FL– The Panama City Beach Police Department is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of a 2022 C8 Corvette, now serving a noble purpose under the banner “Seized for Service.” This high-performance vehicle, initially involved in illicit activities, has been repurposed as a symbol of justice and community engagement.

In April 2023, our officers located and secured this Corvette, which had previously evaded two neighboring law enforcement agencies. The vehicle’s driver, Alexander Casey, 25, of Albany, Ga., was apprehended and charged with felony transporting illegal narcotics and possessing firearms. He was also charged with fleeing and alluding by other agencies.

This successful operation is a testament to the relentless pursuit of safety and lawfulness by our department.

Key to this operation was the exceptional performance of our K9 Officer Rouge, who played a vital role in detecting the narcotics concealed in the vehicle. The seizure was executed under the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act, demonstrating our commitment to upholding the law and protecting our community.

The Corvette’s transformation is marked by the impactful phrase “Seized for Service,” prominently displayed on its new wrap, adorned with the Panama City Beach Police Department graphics. This phrase encapsulates our philosophy of converting tools of crime into instruments of positive community influence.

This vehicle will now be featured in our ‘Cops and Kids’ program, serving as a dynamic tool for public relations and community outreach. It stands as a powerful reminder of the consequences of illegal narcotics possession and transportation, reinforcing the message of law adherence and community responsibility.

We anticipate that the presence of this visually striking Corvette, alongside K9 Officer Rouge, will significantly enhance our community events, fostering a sense of unity and awareness, especially among the youth.

We are grateful for the community’s support and are committed to continuously working towards a safer and more engaged Panama City Beach.
