Bay County Transit Launches School Supply Drive to Help Replenish
School Supplies for Teachers and Students

Month-long campaign aims to help teachers and students stock up on the most-needed supplies

[Panama City, Fla.] – Bayway, Bay County’s Public Transit System, has announced a month-long school supply drive to support teachers and students and restock on most-needed school supplies. Through this initiative, Bayway hopes to provide a cost-effective way for teachers and families to obtain school supplies. The school supply drive begins today and will run until Oct. 31, 2022, and community members are encouraged to donate at boxes located throughout the county. All donated school supplies will be given to the Bay District School Board for direct distribution to schools and students in need.

“We know many families are grappling with financial hardships due to the rising costs of consumer goods, and it may be challenging to afford the necessary supplies needed for children to thrive in the classroom,” said Lamar Hobbs, Transit Program Administrator of the Bay County Board of County Commissioners. “We hope this initiative will help supplement mid-year school supplies for teachers and families and ensure students in our area have proper school supplies.”
