Super Saturday Event at Gulf Coast State College

The Mix

On The Mix this week, Caleb Jordan talked to Merissa Hudson who is the Executive Director of Enrollment Management/Registrar. Merissa talked about the Super Saturday event happening at Gulf Coast State College this Saturday, July 31st. The event will be held at two different locations. At the Panama City campus, it will be held in the Advanced Technology Center from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. And at the Gulf/Franklin Campus, the event will be held from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM EST. 

You can meet with representatives from advising, enrollment services, financial aid, student IDS and parking decals, student accessibility resources, career development center, TRIO, and veterans services! Registration is not required but if you would like to register for a spot in the Panama City Campus, you can do so at Gulfcoast.edu. 

The $10 application fee will be waived for this event, as well.  Masks are required for any person who has not been fully vaccinated.

Gulf Coast Guarantee

Starting in August 2021, Gulf Coast State College’s Foundation guarantees a $1,400 per year financial aid award to current Bay, Gulf, and Franklin county high school graduates who initially enroll full-time as first-time-in-college degree or certificate-seeking students at Gulf Coast State College in the same calendar year as graduation.

Some of the requirements for the Gulf Coast Guarantee:

• First-time-in-college student who graduated from a service-district secondary
  institution or home school in 2021 or later.
•  Initial GCSC enrollment must be in the same calendar year as graduation
  (exceptions may be made on a case by case basis for December graduates)
• Enroll in at least 12.0 credit hours per semester
•  Only available in fall and spring semesters
•  Must be pursuing a GCSC degree or certificate
