Walton County confirms 1st COVID-19 case

DeFuniak Springs, Florida – The following was released by Walton County Board of County Commissioners just at lunch time today. An Emergency Meeting is been scheduled for 4pm today at the County Commission.

 

“Walton County Board of County Commissioners, in Conjunction with the Department of Health, Walton County, issue notice on Positive Test for COVID-19 in Walton County.

The Walton County Board of County Commissioners (WCBCC), in conjunction with the Department of Health Walton County (DOH-WC), have received confirmation of a positive test for COVID-19 Walton County.

DOH-WC has been monitoring the situation with this confirmed test and will continue to monitor all testing within Walton County.

The WCBCC has been in consultation throughout this health emergency and will continue their coordination with DOH-WC to work to assist in providing for the safety of our residents and visitors.

Updates and other response information will be discussed at the Emergency Board Meeting of the Walton County Board of County Commissioners today, March 18th at 4:00pm in the DeFuniak Springs Boardroom located at 571 US Hwy 90.

In an abundance of caution, space will be limited. We will be practicing social distancing as per the CDC guidelines and will maintain the 6-foot rule.

This meeting is open to the public. Please be governed accordingly.”
