Disaster Bill fails to pass House, after clearing the Senate
Washington, D.C – After the U.S. Senate voted and passed the H.R.2157 – Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2019, the bill was sent back to U.S. House for unanimous consent because of items added to the bill, then it would be sent on to the President to be signed in Law. The bill failed to clear the U.S. House today. The House had adjourned yesterday for a week.
Rep. Shalala asked unanimous consent to take from the Speaker’s table the bill, H.R. 2157, and agree to the Senate amendment.
Rep. Roy objected to the consideration of the Senate amendment. Rep. Chip Roy of Texas objected, there for stopping the bill until at-least late next week when the House is back in session.
His two main reasons where not all House members were available to vote, and the bill did not include money for the Southern Boarder in Texas.
