Hurricane Michael relief legislation filed in Florida Senate Bill 1610

Tallahassee, Florida – Today in Tallahassee a group of  State of Florida Senators and State of Florida Representatives held a press conference outside the hallways of the Florida Senate Chambers to talk about the Senate Bill 1610 that was filed into the Florida Senate at the beginning of March. Many local elected officials from NW Florida were in attendance today.

Senator Bill Montford introduced and filed the bill known as Senate Bill 1610 on March 1st, 2019 with co-introducers Senator George Gainer, and Senator Doug Broxson, all State of Florida Senators that represent districts in the NW Florida region from Pensacola to Live Oak, Florida.

Emergency Mitigation and Response; Creating the Hurricane Michael Recovery Task Force adjunct to the Division of Emergency Management of the Executive Office of the Governor to make recommendations to the Legislature regarding additional assistance needed in the response to, recovery from, and mitigation of the effects of Hurricane Michael in certain areas; requiring the task force to review the effectiveness of local, state, and federal activities in those areas, as well as the availability of resources and any additional assistance needed, etc. APPROPRIATION: $315,285,000.00
