Mediacom Hurricane Michael Restoration Update

Mediacom continues recovery efforts following Hurricane Michael. In Florida and Georgia, they continue to work at full capacity and with speed in areas where they have access and it is safe to travel. They are making steady progress and have been able to successfully restore services to 89% of the impacted homes. They have brought in additional work crews and material to fix downed cable lines, rebuild fiber optic lines damaged from the storm, and make repairs to their facilities as quickly as possible.

  • Currently, approximately 5,400 customers are without service due to widespread power outages, downed lines, and damaged structures.
  • Their priority remains restoring main fiber optic lines which route through the heavily damaged areas in the Southport and Mexico Beach areas. Crews are currently working on the fiber optic line servicing Carrabelle, Landmark Village and Alligator Point areas. Video services from our Wewahitchka facility has been restored fully restoring Sandestin.
