GCSC Athletics Update

Gulf Coast Commodore Student Athletes to Finish Their Seasons
Panama City, FL – Despite significant damage, Gulf Coast State College and Commodore Athletics announced they will resume their athletic seasons as much as current conditions will allow. Although no athletic events will take place at the Gulf Coast campus, teams will be able to compete offsite and around the state to finish out their seasons.
When determined to be safe and appropriate, student athletes will return to the area incrementally as power and water are restored to the community. November 2-4, the volleyball team will travel to New Port Richey at Pasco Hernando to participate in the regional tournament.
“Although we’re still determining the full extent of damage to the campus, it’s important to try to get back to a sense of normalcy as much as possible and wherever possible,” said Dr. John Holdnak, GCSC President. “We will move forward with our sports programs while we are rebuilding the College. This is a much needed step forward as we bring our campus back to life.”
