In 1976, John began his broadcasting career in Paoli, Indiana.
He moved on to Connersville, Indiana in 1978 to host a morning show, as well as
serve as the station's News Director and Sports Director until
 1995, When he moved to Marion, Indiana.
There, he was News Director, hosted a morning show and provided play-by-play for
Marion High School Sports, as well as for surrounding county
schools and two Universities; Indiana Wesleyan and Taylor.
He relocated to Panama City in March of 2001.

He has been married to Genesse White for nearly 21 years, and has two daughters.
