KALEIDOSCOPE THEATRE SHADOW SEASON DEBUT

Event Date: September 13-22
Event Time:
Location: Kaleidoscope Theatre, Lynn Haven, FL.

Kaleidoscope Theatre, located in Lynn Haven, debuts a new feature for their 43rd Season, the “Shadow Season,” on September 13th with the opening production of THE ACTOR’S NIGHTMARE and SISTER MARY IGNATIUS EXPLAINS IT ALL FOR YOU by Christopher Durang.

Winner of the 1981 Obie Award, and directed by Jason Blanks, this mature production will run for two weekends beginning September 13th through September 22nd.

The inaugural plays chosen for the launch of the shadow season are companion pieces conceived by the author, whose comedies are of a darker and more satirical and controversial nature, as two, one-act plays intended to run back to back.

ACTOR’S NIGHTMARE is a riotous spoof of the plight of a stranger who is suddenly pushed on stage to replace an ailing actor. SISTER MARY IGNATIUS tells the story of a teaching nun whose concern with sin creates an unyielding dogma she has forced on her former students during their formative years, which later brings to the front some devastating truths that previously have gone untold.

Directed by Jason Blanks, the production runs on September 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st at 7:30pm and September 15 th and 22nd at 2:00pm.
Adults: $16; Sen/Mil: $15; Students: $8 when pre-reserved by calling 265-3226; door prices $1.00 higher.
